Ralph Alexander brings to Amyris over 25 years of experience and proven success in the oil and gas and petrochemicals sector. Currently, Mr. Alexander is the Managing Director at Riverstone LLC. Most recently, Mr. Alexander served as the Chief Executive Officer of Innovene, the olefins and derivatives subsidiary of British Petroleum (BP). In that role, he established Innovene as a stand-alone company then subsequently oversaw its sale to the INEOS Group for $9 billion in 2005. Prior to Innovene, Mr. Alexander held various executive level positions at BP, including, CEO of Gas, Power & Renewables, CEO of Air BP, and Group Vice President responsible for new markets development. Mr. Alexander holds bachelor and master degrees in nuclear engineering from Brooklyn Polytechnic. He also spent a year at Stanford University as a Sloan Fellow where he earned a masters degree in business administration.
